My memories of the film have dimmed a bit, so I did find some interesting pieces of the novel. Muriel Spark’s The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie arrived as a Christmas present, and I put all others aside.
I remember watching the film with Maggie Smith, and for some reason, years passed before I read the novel.
